Real-time usage gauge for your Claude subscription. One click in your toolbar. One number. No digging through settings.

Predict
See when you'll run out

Depletion ETA based on your actual pace. At 1.3x, you'll hit the wall in 2 days. At 0.8x, you'll waste 20%. Both cost you money.

Optimize
Stop wasting budget

Most tools only warn when you're running out. FuelGauge catches under-use too. $100/mo at 64% = $432/year wasted. It tells you to speed up before the reset eats your headroom.

The math
Plan Monthly Avg use Wasted/yr Saved/yr
Claude Pro $20 ~60% $96 $60
Claude Max 5x $100 ~64% $432 $252
Claude Max 20x $200 ~42% $1,392 $1,032

FuelGauge costs $9. Once. Average Max 5x user recovers $252/year. Pays for itself in 3 days.

What users say

“I was burning through my Max plan in 4 days every week. FuelGauge showed me my pace was 1.8x. Now I spread it out and never hit the wall.”

Marcus T. · backend engineer

“Found out I was using 42% of my Max 20x. That’s $116/month wasted. Downgraded to 5x, saved $100/month.”

Sarah K. · indie hacker

“The under-utilization alert is what sold me. 3 days left, 60% budget remaining. FuelGauge told me to push harder. Got my money’s worth for the first time.”

Jean-Baptiste M. · technical writer

“Session reset alerts alone are worth the $9. I used to find out my 5h window reset by accident. Now I get a ping and jump right back in.”

Ana R. · senior engineer

FAQ
How does FuelGauge access my usage data?
FuelGauge reads the same usage data that Claude shows on your settings page. It uses your active session cookie to fetch your usage stats from Claude's API. No password, no login, no third-party server. Everything stays in your browser.
Do I need to be logged into Claude?
Yes. FuelGauge uses your active Claude session. If you're logged into claude.ai in your browser, it works automatically. If you're logged out, it will show an error and ask you to log in.
What data does FuelGauge store?
Usage history (percentages and timestamps) is stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage. On the Free plan, your data never leaves your machine. Pro users can opt into Cloud Sync to backup their data and access it across browsers — but it's always opt-in, never automatic.
What are the three tiles on the dashboard?
All Models (7-day window covering all Claude models), Session (your current 5-hour rolling session), and Sonnet (7-day window for Sonnet specifically). Each shows percentage remaining, pace, and depletion estimate.
What does "pace" mean?
Pace compares your actual consumption rate to the ideal rate. 1.0x means you're using your budget evenly across the period. Below 1.0x means under-using (you'll waste budget). Above 1.0x means over-using (you'll hit the limit early).
Why does FuelGauge track under-utilization?
Most tools only warn when you're running out. But if you're paying $20/mo and only using 40% of your budget, that's $12/mo wasted. FuelGauge tells you to speed up so you get full value from your subscription.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free gives you the real-time gauge, pace tracking, and depletion ETA. Pro adds historical charts, push notifications (via ntfy), session reset alerts, high-frequency polling down to 1 minute, and cloud sync across browsers. Pro is a one-time $9 payment, not a subscription.
How much money can FuelGauge save me?
Depends on your plan. A Max 5x user at 64% utilization wastes $432/year. FuelGauge’s pace tracking helps you reach 85-90% utilization — that recovers about $21/month. The $9 Pro pays for itself in 3 days. Even on the free plan, the gauge alone prevents the “hit the wall mid-session” moment that costs you an hour of waiting.
Does it work with ChatGPT or Gemini?
Not yet. FuelGauge currently supports Claude (Pro, Max, Team) only. Other providers are on the roadmap.
